NC3 Community Capital Accelerator Program

Build Your Community’s Investment Future

At NC3, the focus of our work is guiding communities through the process of launching a community investment fund (CIF). Our Community Capital Accelerator Program is designed to support your community's journey - offering customized, hands-on support from idea to launch. We’ve helped and are working with communities of various sizes across the country to take meaningful steps toward reclaiming control of local capital ...and we’re ready to help you do the same.

Why It Matters

We lose a community bank every other day. Community investment funds help bring capital home, where it belongs.

What You Can Expect

Our Accelerator isn’t a one-size-fits-all package. We tailor our support based on your goals, your team, and your community’s unique needs. If your group is prepared, we can help bring your fund to launch in as little as 120 days. Not quite ready? No problem – we’ll meet you where you are.

Affordable, Accessible Support

We believe this work should be within reach for every community. We can help you launch a fund for under $10,000 not including legal fees and work to make our services affordable to communities of all sizes. Let’s have that conversation.

Where Should You Start?

Wherever you are in your CIF journey – whether you’re just dreaming or already assembling a team – we invite you to begin with a Discovery Call. We’ll explore your vision, discuss the resources you have (or need), and help you understand what it will take to move forward confidently. There’s no pressure on this call – it’s a conversation rooted in our shared commitment to community capital.

Our Proven Approach Includes:

Discovery

Learning your community’s story and priorities

Community Engagement

Mapping needs, assets, and opportunities together

Project Focus

Clarifying your first investment project

Team Building

Helping you assemble the right CIF-building partners

Fund Compliance Strategy

Identifying the right CIF model and guiding you through setup

Capital Raising & Management

Supporting your capital raise and fund operations

Along the way, NC3 acts as your project manager, coordinating efforts, connecting you to expert practitioners, and ensuring you have the tools to succeed. You’ll be invited to join a cohort of Accelerator teams who are setting up CIFs in communities around the country. Together we will learn from experience and from seasoned experts on topics like governance, business planning, and community engagement.

CIF Toolkit & Handbook

NC3 is dedicated to providing high-quality and accessible information about creating and managing CIFs, in order to seed investment funds in more communities. We see a wide and diverse network of CIFs, tailored to their regions’ specific needs, as the future of community investing. To that end, we have developed the CIF Handbook and CIF Toolkit.

CIF Structures

Discover how Communities can build lasting wealth and resilience through two innovative fund models—Diversified Community Investment Funds (DCIFs), which blend real estate with local business investments, and Aligned Community Investment Funds (ACIFs), which empower mission-driven organizations to raise capital from their own community. Both structures are designed to return profits locally and foster equitable, community-rooted economic growth.
