Changing the Paradigm: Mobilizing Community Investment Funds
March 7th, 2025 8am - 4:30pm
Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI
Join us for an interactive day on community capital and community investment funds, including:
For community builders - Through community investment funds, any community can raise capital from anyone in the community, place it in a fund, determine what the best uses of those funds are, and deploy it within their community. The community experiences the benefits of capital recirculation and those who invested have the opportunity to receive a return.
For entrepreneurs, this day will introduce you to or further your knowledge of community capital's power. Providing you with needed capital, while providing your community with a wealth-building opportunity, all businesses benefit from integrating community capital. We will break down the most important considerations when offering your community an investment opportunity and, in the afternoon, NC3 Practitioners who specialize in supporting entrepreneurs will host workshops for you to establish your next steps.
For local investors or those considering investing locally - spend the day with us to understand the full context of this work and where you can engage to best meet your needs. From one-off crowdfunding campaigns that align with your investment values to community investment fund investments, there are options for everyone to become a local investor.
